A Shrimp Walker hook is really a rigging system for live shrimp and crawfish. The hook is made up of (3) parts:
- Carbon steel hook
- ABS plastic clip
- Proprietary surgical mounting rubber.
The hook mounts to the carapace or shell of the animal without harming it. This allows the animal to stay alive swimming naturally until fish strike.
Keeping bait alive and active for a long period of time is very beneficial to fishermen since fish are much more attracted to live swimming bait than to dead bait.
In salt water, "ALL" fish eat shrimp. Live shrimp is "hands down" the best bait for catching fish inshore or offshore on reefs. Some species caught on the Shrimp Walker are snook, redfish, sheepshead, all snapper species, grouper, sea trout and all species of jack and more.
In fresh water, the Shrimp Walker can be used on crawfish just as easily as on a shrimp.
Bass and all other freshwater species like walleye, trout and pike LOVE crawfish.
Because the Shrimp Walker does not harm the shrimp or crawfish the bait stays alive much longer giving fishermen a much better chance of catching fish.

Yes, the Shrimp Walker is legal to use everywhere. Using a single hook with live bait is legal in all states. The Shrimp Walker adheres to Florida fishing regulations, the strictest fishing regulations in the world. The Shrimp Walker is a circle hook with no offset. The hook is plated carbon steel and meant to rust out of a fishes' mouth in a matter of weeks if the line is broken leaving the hook stuck in the mouth of the fish.
The Shrimp Walker works very well on medium to large shrimp. For crayfish, small to large.
Giving the Shrimp Walker rubber mount a couple of good stretches loosens it up a bit allowing it to more easily mount to larger shrimp.
The shrimp Walker is a custom hook roughly the size of a "1" aught hook but with a longer shank. The hook size is kept small to work on medium and large shrimp. This size hook is light enough to keep shrimp swimming upright. We will be introducing a larger hook roughly a "2" aught hook by popular demand in the spring of 2025.
The ALL NEW Shrimp Walker 2 is adjustable. This means that the hook can mount to the shrimp or crawfish but the hook portion can also slide down to the back of the bait and then turned to the side of the bait. This keeps the hook hidden and next to the meat of the bait. See shrimp mounting and swimming videos at www.shrimpwalker.com
